Danijela Dolenec, a member of the Center’s research team, has been granted a 5-year research project entitled Disobedient Democracy: A Comparative Analysis of Contentious Politics in the European Semi-periphery. The project is financed by the Swiss National Science Foundation within the initiative “Promotion of Young Scientists in Eastern Europe” (PROMYS). The main objective of the project is to analyze the recent cycle of contention against representative democracy in Europe, with a particular focus on four cities of the European semi-periphery: Zagreb, Belgrade, Barcelona and Lisbon.
